Using a glass swatching instrument and glass dip pen, you’ll learn techniques for creating beautiful and informative ink swatches that showcase the true character of fountain pen inks. Explore how varying ink saturation can reveal an ink’s unique properties, including shading, sheen, color variation, and overall performance, while creating swatches that are both useful and visually appealing.

Whether you’re building an ink collection, organizing your favorites, or simply looking for a new way to enjoy the hobby, this workshop will provide practical skills and creative inspiration.

All supplies will be provided for use during the workshop.

Each participant will receive:

  • A glass swatching instrument
  • Ink swatch cards
  • A glass sample vial of fountain pen ink

About the Instructor:

Gailyn is an avid fountain pen and ink enthusiast, content creator, and small business owner whose passion lies in exploring both the technical and creative sides of the hobby. She is particularly fascinated by the complex properties of modern fountain pen inks and enjoys ink swatching, dip pens, calligraphy, vintage and modern flex nibs, custom-ground nibs, and celluloid fountain pens.

As the founder of Fountain PENdulum, Gailyn designs and handcrafts solid wood desk accessories created specifically for fountain pen and ink enthusiasts. Through her work, she combines craftsmanship, functionality, and a deep appreciation for the writing experience.
